The festival economy is the market
Durga Puja is unlike anything else in Indian signage. Thousands of pandals, most of them with temporary screens, concentrated into a few days. It creates a rental market with extreme seasonality — capacity is booked out months ahead, and prices reflect it.
If you are planning a puja installation, book the site recce by July. The recce, not the booking, is what runs out of time, and a pandal site has power and rigging constraints that cannot be assessed from a photograph.
Humidity year-round
Kolkata is humid for most of the year, not only during the monsoon. Sustained humidity is harder on sealed electronics than intermittent heavy rain, because condensation forms inside imperfectly sealed enclosures and does not dry out. Cable-entry sealing and enclosure quality matter more here than the headline IP number.
